L'evento della vita dell'animale che consente la sua identificazione in azienda. In particolare, è l’evento con il quale avviene l’immatricolazione del soggetto. Il codice attribuito è unico sul territorio nazionale. Permette una identificazione univoca dell’animale in tutte le fasi dell’allevamento e di tracciarne gli spostamenti fino al macello. Fondamentale sia per la gestione dell’azienda sia per tutte le attività legate alla profilassi zootecnica e tracciamento dell’animale e dei suoi prodotti.
